Step 5 - Drafting
Before you start this stage, you should have:
- Understood the brief (what is it I want to accomplish?)
- Looked at previous cover designs - so you understand the quality expected
- Learned about the new repertoire, read the lyrics carefully and found pictures to match the songs
- PRACTISE, PRACTISE, PRACTISE... Drawing these pictures, tracing over fonts and using different art mateials (e.g. crayons/pencils/paints)
- Come up with your own images you would like to include that aren't copied
In your art book, or on A4 paper, create at least two completely different cover designs as drafts (it doesn't need to be done perfectly, just well enough to see the colours, techniques, materials and elements of your design).
See the rubric for this task under the Assessment tab. This task is due at the end of Week 8, Term 3.
Once you have discussed these designs with your peers and with your teacher, it is time to choose the design you will use to create your final piece.
