Task
For this assignment, you will design a fantastic image that could be the used as the cover of the Festival of Music 2018 program.
As a real designer, you will not only create the image, but also complete an analysis on previous Festival of Music covers and research on the music in the 2017 program. This will make sure your final piece is well thought out and worthy to be the next Festival of Music cover. You will have opportunities to collaborate with your peers during the research and analysis stages for this task, but each of you will create your own design.
Only two designs from each school can be sent through to the competition. You will need to talk to your teacher about who is going to decide which final pieces to send. Some ideas for choosing the winning entries at your school include:
Things you will need to complete this task:
TIME: You will need to hand up your work in Week 2, Term 4, 2017. Discuss with your teacher about how many hours a week you will get to work on this project. One hour per week would be the minimum amount of time required to complete this task.
COMPUTER - You will need access to a computer with internet access for these tasks. Discuss with your teacher how much computer time at school you will receive for this task. Having a computer with internet access at home will also help you complete these tasks.
ART MATERIALS - For the final piece of this task, you will need some art materials. You will need a thick A3 piece of paper for your final piece of work. What other materials you need will be up to you. Are you going to use paint, coloured pencils, pastels, collage or something else?

- Organising a gallery where students and parents can vote
